Call-takers answer both non-urgent and emergency triple-zero calls, assess the patient's condition over the phone, and provide step-by-step instructions in lifesaving procedures.

At our Emergency Operations Centre in Adelaide, we also coordinate the Adelaide Bank State Rescue Helicopter Service, manage Medic Alert information. We also coordinate the Divers' Emergency Network, using conference calls to connect specialists in decompression sickness to emergencies anywhere in Australia.

SAAS call-takers are educated in the management of triple-zero telephone calls, non-urgent ambulance bookings, and general enquiries.

They must complete 'Nationally Accredited' Certificate III.
