Single responders are stationed across South Australia. A single responder is an ambulance response unit (e.g. a vehicle which is not a traditional ambulance, like a 4WD or a station wagon) with one paramedic or ambulance officer on board. This single responder carries much of the same equipment on board as an ambulance, including patient care kits, defibrillators and medication.
Single responders are dispatched to an incident when they can get to the scene of an emergency and start delivering life-saving treatment quickly.
