Personal Alert System Rebate Scheme

In April 2011, the Government of South Australia introduced a rebate scheme for approved personal alert systems. The rebate scheme recognises SA Ambulance Service’s Call Direct as an approved system.

The rebate aims to help elderly South Australian’s who are at risk of falls or medical emergencies obtain a personal alert system and live independently in their own home.

If eligible under South Australian Government criteria, a rebate of up to $380 for the purchase of, and up to $250 per year for the monitoring of, an approved system is available for approved applicants.

At present the age criteria for the rebate states that priority is given to people aged 85 years and over (65 years and over if of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent). From 1 January 2012 the rebate will be available to approved applicants 75 years or older.

To claim the personal alert system rebate, simply complete an application for rebate form.
