SA Ambulance Service is governed by the Health Care Act (2008). SA Ambulance Service is part of SA Health and reports to the Minister for Health.

Health Care Act 2008

The Health Care Act 2008 became effective from 1 July 2008. This repealed the Ambulance Services Act 1992 and under the new Act, the functions of SA Ambulance Service transferred to SA Health. The Act maintains SA Ambulance Service as an identifiable incorporated entity. Consistent with the incorporated hospitals, it is managed by a Chief Executive Officer reporting to the Chief Executive of SA Health.
