Patient Transfer Officers

Download brochure (PDF, 883kb)

Patient transport officers (who work in our patient transport service) are qualified with a Certificate IV in Basic Emergency Care. This equips them to administer pre-hospital care during non-emergency routine transfers of patients.

Recruitment for ambulance officers is undertaken on an ‘as needs’ basis and is initially for casual employment only. Permanent appointments are drawn from this casual employee pool.

For more information about becoming an ambulance officer, call our Customer Service Centre on 1300 13 62 72 or email SAASenquiries@health.sa.gov.au.
